The acronym EMDR stands for "Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing." The intervention with this therapy has a cognitive, emotional and behavioral impact; and as Francine Shapiro says: with EMDR the person is led to a reduction of disturbing symptoms, a change in beliefs is facilitated and they have the possibility of functioning better in daily life.
EMDR therapy entails the execution of 8 phases that, within a basic protocol, a person can overcome unique traumatic events in a few therapy sessions. These phases are: History, preparation, evaluation, desensitization, installation, body check, session closure and follow-up.
In any area of El Salvador and its neighboring regions that require the implementation of the model in situations of psychotrauma experienced by every beneficiary.
